So last night I went out to dinner with a friend for some sushi and we also went to Soprano's Piano bar for a drink and to check out the new piano player. My rare night off so I wanted to make the most of it.
The piano player was awesome. A kid (dont ask me why a kid was there) sang "Beyonce - Crazy in Love" and "Black Eyed Peas - Hey Mama" with the piano player's new Kareoke Program. It was deafening but funny all the same. After the Piano Player, who's name escapes me, sang some Heart. I made it an early night, but not before a cocktail.
My friend Maurice is the head bartender there and I decided to try his newest cocktail. I am by no means a Gin drinker, but he made me a cocktail with the following:
Gin
Lychee Liquer
Sweet & Sour Mix
Fresh Lemon
Tonic water
I must say, it was quite tasty. You can taste that it is in fact gin (in this case he used Bombay Sapphire) but the Lychee Liquer really was a nice subtle touch. I've had a Lychee Martini a few times at Bamboo Bernies where they use Lychee juice, and wasnt very fond of it, but this was nice. I came home to find I had a lychee liquer bottle from DeKuyper, and a bottle of Beefeater, so I will try it myself.
